The cottage: Maison du Meunier and Water mill

The Moulin de Charzay

Charzay is one of the many mills which, from the 16th to the 18th century, have equipped the two rivers, the Béronne and the Berlande . Only the Charzay mill built in 1723 was coupled with a windmill, of which the remains of the tower remain.

In the 19th century, with the creation of flour mills, they gradually lost their raison d'être.

Today, the wheel no longer turns, the tower has lost its wings, but you will find the authentic charm of the Maison du Meunier, with its original fireplace, its old bread oven.

The Bief is still there and allows us, with a turbine, autonomy in electricity.
